I don’t know about you, but for me the thought of relaxing in the cool pines during the desert’s hot summer has a calming affect on my body. The wind whispering through the pines and picking up the fresh scent of the trees has always done that.
It is also wonderful to know that Prescott Arizona is an easy drive away. Prescott offers not just relaxing, cool weather, but an abundance of history for those of us interested. Established in the mid 1800′s as a mining and ranch town, the city of Prescott holds it’s charm with exquisite architecture.
Prescott offers a place for the desert golfers to enjoy the cool mountains without traveling too far. Those gas prices are getting us to stay closer to home and enjoy what is nearby.
Today you will find Prescott hotels for any budget. So, stay for the night or stay for a month. Prescott is worth the adventure.

On our recent trip to “Old Town San Diego” there wasn’t just the smell of tortillas in the air you could tell there was the essence of preparations for Cinco de Mayo in the air. They are going to close down the main street through Old Town, be making 1000’s of tortillas out in front of all the Mexican food restaurants and I am sure there will be plenty of Rita’s and Cerveza for everyone . Sure to be a really good time.
On this recent trip we stayed at the Hacienda Hotel right in Old Town, San Diego. We were able to walk right down to Main Street and have dinner and shop all along the neat little shops right in Old Town and walk back to our hotel. Our room looked out over the bay and we could see the ocean right from our room. It was really nice. Our only complaint with this San Diego Hotel was the parking situation was horrible. You could purchase their parking for 14 dollars a day or try and find parking on the street or public parking lots. We chose to go the free route and it worked out fine except for the fact that our room was up a really big hill, at the very top of the hotel’s property. Everything else was great at the Hacienda Hotel.
Our favorite restaurant is the “Café Coyote” we could see the restaurant from our hotel room and could actually smell the tortillas they were making out in front of the restaurant as well. We have sampled several of the restaurants in Old Town and we keep going back to “Café Coyote”. They have the best Margarita’s, Tortillas, food and ambiance. We highly recommend “Café Coyote” to anyone that wants great Mexican Food. I also highly recommend their “Cadillac Margarita” very tasty.

While visiting Scottsdale Arizona for lunch the other day, a small but intreging bakery-cafe caught my eye! Not stopping would have been a grand mistake! Scratch Pasteries is a Parisian bakery-cafe located on Indian School and Miller Roads in south Scottsdale. This cafe holds true to its name “scratch”. Each pastery, quiche, sandwich and dessert is made from scratch. It is a refreshing way to spend a lunch, with fresh, unique food! The owners are always trying and creating new things so the menu is ever changing.
Whether in the area for lunch or visiting from out of town, Scratch Pasteries is well worth your time! Find the closest Scottsdale Arizona Hotels before visiting!

This past weekend I was blessed to visit Southern California! Yes the weather was great, yes the people were “hot” and yes the food was fantastic! The one thing that impressed me the most was the attitudes of the locals! I give “cu dos” to the Southern California residents that we came in contact with, you were all hospitable and generous! Thank you for making my weekend trip fantastic!
We enjoyed Salt Creek Beach in Laguna! This beautiful beach was full of soft white sand ready to warm your feet and soul! One of our favorite restaurants we found was the Hush Restaurant in Laguna. The food was fantastic! Try the ahi, salmon and fillet mingnon! Our group of 10 raved about each of their meals! If price is no object, the views and food at the Ritz Carlton Sunday Brunch in Laguna were amazing! The relaxed, elegant setting overlooking the Pacific Ocean was incredible! The variety of excellent food to choose from was the best I have ever seen or tasted! If you have to save a whole year to enjoy it, do it!
We left Southern California with a smile and lots of wonderful memories to cherish until the next trip! For more information about hotels in Southern California visit www.sandiegocaliforniahotels.net .

This past weekend I took a trip to Sedona Arizona. I found myself in a wonderful restaurant that reminded me of the Old West with class. The Cowboy Club has walls full of scenic western murals, cowboy hats and a beautiful rock fireplace nestled in the back. I felt right at home! As I was seated by the courteous staff, I noticed the cleanliness of my surroundings. “Excellent”, I thought to myself! The menu was outstanding! Appetizers consisted of real rattlesnake and cactus fries. Don’t worry, for those of you who don’t enjoy living on the edge there are other choices. The choices are endless with ribs, buffalo, Angus and even seafood. To top off the meal I enjoyed the pan fried chocolate chip cookie! Absolutely wonderful! This uptown restaurant has my vote and will be visited again when staying in Sedona!
